PLASTIC GROCERY BAGS

Good Samaritan's Food Pantry has a great need for clean, plastic  grocery bags.  Instead of throwing away your grocery bags, bring them to Good Samaritan.

Consider doing a drive to collect plastic bags.  This would be a good project for a class or civic group.

A "COST-FREE GIVING" OPPORTUNITY

Did you know that you can support Good Samaritan's work by doing something you already do anyway?

If you shop at Kroger, your trips to the grocery store can help Good Samaritan's Ministries!  All you have to do is participate in Kroger's Neighbor to Neighbor Program through your KrogerPlus Card.

Maybe you enrolled your Kroger Card in the past, if so you will need to renew your support beginning in July.

Here's how it works:
  1. Print a copy of this Kroger letter, with the barcode that is unique to Good Samaritan Ministries.
  2. Take the letter to Kroger and a cashier will scan your KrogerPlus card and the barcode from this letter
  3. It's that easy!!

For the rest of this program year (July 1, 2010-April 30, 2011) everytime you use your KrogerPlus Card, Kroger will contribute a percentage of your elegible purchases to the Kroger Neighbor to Neighbor Donation Fund.  This fund will donate $1 million annually to participating charities or groups.  Each enrolled non-profit group will earn a portion of the $1 miilion equal to the percentage of total earned contributions attributed to them.

RELAY FOR LIFE - A DOUBLE BLESSING

Blessings flow from the Brownwood chapter of the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life.  It is a blessing to all those who participate in it and it raises much needed money for the American Cancer Society. This year Relay for Life  brought blessing to Brown County families who are food insecure.

During the Relay for Life 2,216 pounds of food was collected for Good Samaritan's Food Pantry.
