Baby Blessings
The arrival of a new baby typically brings a level of excitement and joy unsurpassed for the rest of one's life. The new baby boy or girl is greeted by the ecstatic faces of the new mom and dad and all of the extended family that could fit in the waiting room. Baby showers upon baby showers have ensured that the new baby has all he or she could possibly need to begin his or her new life.
   However, for many new moms and babies, the picture isn't quite as rosy. Bringing a new baby into the world can be an overwhelming thing, especially when there are no welcoming faces in the waiting room, there were no showers and the new mom has no idea how she is going to provide for the new bundle of joy.
   That's where Baby Blessings comes into play. When contacted by the hospital, we can provide the basic necessities such as diapers, clothing, wipes, blankets, etc.

 

 
 
    
    
 
How it works:
A representative from the hospital contacts GSM to let us know there is a new mom and baby who needs our help. Then we put a basket together and deliver it to the new family with our prayers and best wishes.
     
Some items often included:
Diapers, bottles, wipes, baby blanket, teether, cotton swabs, powder, baby oil, baby lotion, baby shampoo, baby body wash, wash cloth, booties, socks, mittens, bibs, onesies, diaper rash cream, pacifier, nail kit, comb, brush, orajel, burp pads and sets of clothing.
   
Some of the items included like diapers and wipes are in every basket. Other items are dependent upon availability. Each basket also comes with a note to the new baby telling them how special he or she is and how much he or she is loved by God and a Bible or Bible story book.
 

 How you can help: Consider holding a drive for baby items or if you know of a new mom who needs help, let a member of the hospital staff know so they can contact us.
