Disaster Closet
   Unfortunately, disaster can strike anyone, anywhere at anytime. It's hard to know what to do when that happens - when you are forced to start over with nothing.
   When the unexpected happens, we can help our clients by offering the basic essentials to start over. Some of the items we offer include pots and pans, dishes, bedding, towels and much more.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
   Before you throw out those good, used dishes or pots and pans, bring them to the drop off location on the Anderson Street side of the building.
   Each family receives sheets, blankets and towels for each family members, basic hygiene items, dishes, pots and pans and any other items we have on hand that might be useful in starting over after a disaster.
 
 
 
How you can help:
 
   Bring in any items that might can be used before you discard them or get your Sunday School class, youth group, civic organization or family involved and hold a drive to benefit the Disaster Closet. Right now we are in need of items for our Disaster Closet. Please see the following list:
  

Good Samaritan Ministries is in need of some items in order to replenish our Disaster Relief Boxes. Please make certain the items are clean and in good working order. Your donation will help others get back on their feet after natural disasters, divorce, unemployment, loss of income, etc.

Kitchen Items: dishes, plates, bowls – serving and mixing, saucers, glasses, platters

Bakeware (metal or glass): cookie sheets, muffin pans, pie pans, cake pans, loaf pans, measuring cups and spoons, canister sets

Flatware: spoons, forks, knives, long-handled cooking utensils

Tea/water pitchers

Plastic storage containers with lids

Decorative items, wall décor, knick-knacks

Small electrical appliances: coffee makers, mixers, crock pots, toasters, blenders, iron, clocks, clock radios, lamps

Cookware: pots, saucepans, skillets, soup pots

Dish towels, dish cloths

Potholders

Towels, wash cloths

Bath rug sets

Drop off items on Anderson Street during regular business hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Wednesday from 1 to 5 p.m.
